“Can Rivers Cause Earthquakes?” was published on December 18th, 2018 on the Scientific American Observations blog. It talks about how rivers might trigger earthquakes by removing trillions of tons of rock from Earth’s crust.
“Stepping Out” won the 2018 University of Colorado Center for the American West Thompson Writing Award in the “creative nonfiction” category. The story is about river erosion and an octogenarian highwire walker.
